On March 9, 2026, a talk event was held at TSUTAYA Bookstore MARUNOUCHI in Marunouchi, Tokyo, featuring Takaya Taguchi, CEO of Helical Fusion, and Kei Tanaka, a former Goldman Sachs employee and investor. The event was held to commemorate the decision to reprint Taguchi's book, "That's Why We Create the Sun," which was published in January 2026, and to express gratitude to everyone who supported its publication.

The event, titled "Why Nuclear Fusion Now? ~Entrepreneur Takaya Taguchi and Investor Kei Tanaka Discuss the Essence of the 'Last Energy Revolution'~," received far more applications than anticipated for the venue's capacity, and we had to hastily hold a lottery for attendees. Thank you to everyone who took the time out of their busy schedules to attend. We also apologize to those who were interested but unfortunately could not be accommodated this time.

Furthermore, there were many real-world stories that only these two, who are on the front lines and taking on challenges every day, could tell. Ms. Tanaka spoke about why she supports big challenges such as deep tech startups, and how she came to choose Helical Fusion as one of them. At one point in the audience, she asked about the secret to maintaining health and high motivation despite her busy schedule.

This book goes beyond a simple overview of fusion energy (nuclear fusion) and presents its future-oriented perspective, considering the social impact and industrial potential of its realization from the viewpoints of the nation and humanity. It also recounts how Taguchi met fusion researchers such as Junichi Miyazawa (current CTO of Helical Fusion) and Takuya Goto (current Deputy CTO of Helical Fusion), was inspired by their passion, and, through repeated discussions, became fascinated by the possibilities of nuclear fusion, leading to the co-founding of Helical Fusion Inc. The book also describes Taguchi's courageous leap into this new world, the path he has taken through dialogues with those he has met, and his outlook on the future of energy, humanity, and the planet. Since its release, it has been picked up by a wide range of readers, primarily business professionals interested in technology, and a reprint has now been decided.
