On September 29th, Helical Fusion participated in a high-level panel on fusion energy at the Plug and Play Tech Center in Seattle. The event brought together leaders in fusion development, finance, and clean technology to discuss the path to commercialization and the role of international collaboration.
The panel was moderated by Ben Eisinger, a seasoned expert in nuclear innovation, and featured the following speakers:
– Anthony Pancotti (Helion)
– Shohei Yamada (SBI Holdings USA, Inc.)
– Mel Clark (CleanTech Alliance)
– Takaya Taguchi, Co-Founder & CEO of Helical Fusion
Discussions covered the latest progress in fusion development, social and regulatory challenges, and the transformative impact fusion could have once realized. Importantly, the conversation extended beyond technology to include implications for geopolitics, diplomacy, and even culture—reflecting fusion’s global significance.
One idea that resonated strongly: the U.S., Japan, and Europe can serve as both rivals and partners in the race to industrialize fusion. A highly engaged audience raised questions on timelines, implementation hurdles, and the broader vision for fusion-powered societies.
We extend our sincere thanks to Plug and Play, SBI Holdings USA, Inc., CleanTech Alliance, and all partners for organizing this timely and forward-looking event.
