On July 17, 2025, Helical Fusion Co-Founder & CEO Takaya Taguchi participated in Mauritius Clean Energy Week 2025, an event that brought together policymakers, innovators, and investors to discuss solutions for a sustainable energy future. As the only fusion energy company featured, Helical Fusion was honored to contribute insights on how fusion can transform the global energy landscape—especially for island nations.
In his standalone presentation, Taguchi introduced the fundamentals of fusion as a process that recreates the sun’s energy here on Earth. He then highlighted Helical Fusion’s unique approach based on the Helical-Stellarator, which offers inherent advantages for commercial deployment, including steady-state operation and compact scalability.
These qualities make fusion particularly well-suited for countries like Mauritius that face both resource constraints and a need to preserve their natural environment. Attendees expressed strong interest in the practical aspects of fusion deployment, including implementation timelines and potential collaboration pathways—underscoring growing regional momentum.
Helical Fusion also participated in a panel discussion moderated by Mr. Danen Beemadoo of Twin Towers Ltd., where panelists explored how to balance energy security, environmental preservation, and cultural continuity. Fusion’s high energy density and minimal land footprint were presented as a compelling solution for Mauritius and similar regions worldwide.
As an Innovating Clean Power Solutions Partner, Helical Fusion is proud to support Mauritius' renewable energy ambitions and to contribute to global dialogue on sustainable, scalable clean power.
