Helical Fusion Shares Insights on Fusion Energy at 9th Balkans Energy Summit in Athens

Helical Fusion Co-Founder & CEO Takaya Taguchi recently participated in the 9th Balkans Energy Summit 2025, held in Athens, Greece, at a venue overlooking the city’s historic ruins.
The two-day event brought together key figures from government and industry—including ministerial-level representatives—from across the European and Mediterranean regions, to discuss critical topics such as energy sourcing challenges, clean energy transitions, and the future of power generation.
On Day 1, Takaya joined a high-level panel on hydrogen, where he shared insights on the strategic role of fusion energy in enabling truly green hydrogen. He emphasized the urgency of focusing global attention and investment on fusion as a clean and sustainable energy source.
On Day 2, Takaya delivered a standalone presentation introducing Helical Fusion’s vision and progress toward the world’s first steady-state commercial fusion reactor.
He opened by reflecting on Athens' philosophical heritage and its connection to his own academic background, setting the stage for a presentation that connected visionary thinking with practical engineering.
The Helical Stellarator, capable of delivering clean, stable baseload power, was presented as a realistic and scalable fusion solution. The session left a strong impression on a room full of regional decision-makers and energy innovators.
