On October 31, Helical Fusion’s COO and Head of Business Development, Yosuke Kubo, participated in the Japan–Singapore Co-Creation Platform (JSCCP) First Seminar, titled “At the Forefront of Japan–Singapore DeepTech Innovation — Framing the Key Issues for Co-Creation.”
The seminar was hosted by JETRO and METI, with support from IGPI Singapore, and held as an official side event of SWITCH®, Singapore’s largest innovation and technology festival.
More than 150 participants from government, industry, and academia in Japan and Singapore attended the event.
During Session 2, Kubo presented under the theme “Building Another Sun in Asia.” His presentation addressed the potential role of fusion energy as a foundation for sustainable development across the Asia region. He outlined several areas where Japan and Singapore could strengthen collaboration, including fusion technology development, investment frameworks, and governance approaches.
Kubo noted that the combination of Japan’s accumulated expertise in fusion science and manufacturing with Singapore’s innovation-oriented policy environment provides a complementary foundation for advancing efforts toward commercially viable fusion power in the region.
This seminar formed part of a broader set of discussions occurring during SWITCH® week focused on enhancing Japan–Singapore cooperation in DeepTech innovation and next-generation energy systems.
