On July 28, 2025, under the Helix Program, Helical Fusion officially launched the “Helix Program” Partnering Project to accelerate the realization of the fusion energy industry through a nationwide, all-sector collaboration. The project aims to achieve practical power generation in the 2030s.
The first symbolic event was held in Aichi, a region representing Japan’s world-class manufacturing capabilities in Japan.
Through nationwide, cross-sector collaboration—spanning from manufacturing to energy utilization—the project aims to advance the cooperation across all sectors involved in producing, delivering, and utilizing energy, laying the groundwork for a comprehensive fusion energy ecosystem.
About the “Helix Program” Partnering Project
Helical Fusion aims to build a fusion energy industry originating from Japan—one with the potential to grow into a $7 billion-scale market. To realize this, we are forming partnerships across all sectors involved in supporting, generating, and consuming energy.

Specifically, the Helix Program aims to complete technical validation with Helix HARUKA, then construct and operate Helix KANATA, the world’s first commercially viable, steady-state net power fusion plant, by the 2030s. We then aim to scale deployment worldwide, bringing fusion’s benefits to communities across the globe.
To accelerate this effort, we are expanding collaboration with partners from every region and industry across Japan through the “Helix Program” Partnering Project.
About the First Event at STATION Ai
To mark the launch of the Partnering Project, we held the first event at STATION Ai in Aichi together with seven investors announced in July*. The event brought together key stakeholders from the local industrial community and invited them to participate in shaping the future of the fusion energy industry.

Our technology with Helical Stellarator inherits about 70 years of research from Japan’s National Institute for Fusion Science (NIFS) and its predecessor, including the Institute of Plasma Physics at Nagoya University. Many of our collaborations have been supported by advanced industrial players in the Aichi–Chubu region, making STATION Ai—a leading innovation hub in Japan—an ideal venue for this launch. Since March 2025, Helical Fusion has maintained a presence at STATION Ai.
At the event, partner companies from diverse fields—including manufacturing, finance, and retail—shared their reasons for investing, their expectations for the fusion energy industry, and ideas for concrete collaboration. Their insights sparked strong interest from attendees, and new potential partnerships have already begun to take shape.

Looking Ahead
We will continue hosting events across Japan to lead the Partnering Project and assemble a powerful team capable of realizing a fusion energy industry.
