Helical Fusion Featured on TV Tokyo’s “Breakthrough” Science and Business Program

On Saturday, August 30, 2025, Helical Fusion was featured on Breakthrough, a nationally broadcast science and business program produced by TV Tokyo, one of Japan’s major television networks.
The segment highlighted the vision, technology, and current progress of Helical Fusion through an in-depth interview with Takuya Goto, Co-Founder and Vice CTO of the company. Goto, a former assistant professor at the National Institute for Fusion Science (NIFS), spoke about his dedication to realizing fusion energy and the unique advantages of the Helical Stellarator approach.
The program also provided an accessible explanation of how fusion power works and introduced NIFS—Japan’s world-renowned fusion research center located in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture—along with its flagship device, the Large Helical Device (LHD), a core facility in global stellarator research.
