Helical Fusion participated in SMART ENERGY WEEK 2025, one of Japan’s largest commercial exhibitions and conferences in the energy sector, held from November 19 to 21, 2025, at INTEX Osaka.
During the event, Helical Fusion hosted a booth exhibition and held a standalone seminar introducing its approach to fusion energy commercialization.
In addition, Helical Fusion CEO Takaya Taguchi took the stage as a Vice Chair of the Fusion Energy Industry Council of Japan (J-Fusion)—the only industry-wide organization representing Japan’s fusion sector. He delivered a keynote session alongside Mr. Tsuneto, Deputy Director-General for Science, Technology and Innovation Policy at the Cabinet Office of Japan, which plays a leading role in shaping Japan’s national fusion energy policy.
During the keynote, the speakers emphasized that Japan has entered a new phase in which government and industry are jointly accelerating momentum toward fusion commercialization, and called for broader participation from the industrial community to further strengthen the ecosystem.
Now in its third year since its launch in 2024, this year’s exhibition saw a noticeable shift in engagement from attendees. Visitors to Helical Fusion’s booth raised highly ambitious and concrete questions, such as “How can our company enter the fusion industry?” and “Is there a way our technology could contribute?”
These conversations made it clear that Japan’s industrial sector is becoming increasingly proactive and forward-leaning in fusion energy.
Leveraging Japan’s world-class manufacturing capabilities, Helical Fusion remains committed to turning fusion energy from a future vision into a real and viable energy solution.
